These Soft-Batch Chocolate Chip Cookies deliver a pillowy, chewy center with lightly crisp edges, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper or use a silicone mat.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and slightly fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Stir in the vanilla until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mix to the wet ingredients. Mix just until incorporated to avoid a tough cookie.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips evenly through the dough.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove when the edges are lightly browned and centers still look soft.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the pan for a few minutes so they finish setting, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra texture, add chopped nuts or oats. Use room-temperature eggs for better incorporation.
