  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set that aside for later.
  3. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until smooth and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the vanilla extract and eggs until fully combined.
  5. Gradually incorporate the flour mixture until just mixed; avoid overmixing.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them out.
  8. Bake for 9-11 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Best served warm with milk or coffee. For storage, keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
