A spicy twist on classic mac and cheese that’s quick, flexible, and perfect for using leftovers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups of classic favorite (mac and cheese, chicken Alfredo, or similar)
  • 1 cup of spicy ingredient (sliced jalapeños, pickled jalapeños, or hot sauce to taste)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (optional; cheddar, Monterey Jack, or mozzarella)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the classic favorite following package directions or reheat leftovers until hot.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add sliced jalapeños or pour in your hot sauce. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until softened.
  4. Add the cooked classic base to the skillet. Stir gently to coat everything.
  5. Sprinkle in the shredded cheese, if using, and stir until it melts.
  6. Season with garlic powder, then salt and pepper to taste. Adjust seasoning as desired.
  7. Serve immediately while hot and enjoy your spicy twist.

Notes

For less heat, remove jalapeño seeds. Dairy-free? Use plant-based cheese or omit it altogether.
