Delicious and moist banana bread with a cinnamon roll flair, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for cinnamon swirl)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 12 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mix together the mashed bananas, granulated sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until well blended.
  3. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the banana mixture. Then, gently add the flour, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  4. Combine the granulated sugar and cinnamon for the cinnamon sugar mixture in a small bowl. Set aside.
  5. Pour half of the banana bread batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture over it.
  6. Add the remaining batter over the cinnamon sugar layer. Finally, sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar on top.
  7. Swirl the batter gently with a knife or skewer to create a marbled effect, being cautious not to overmix.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Cool the bread in the pan for 10-15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Use very ripe bananas for maximum sweetness. Be careful not to overmix the batter.
